SPECIAL UPDATE

ST. JOHN'S INSTITUTION TEACHER'S DAY CELEBRATION 2016

This annual event was held at the school assembly on the last day of school before the mid-term school holidays, which was on Friday, 27th of May 2016. Special guests such as Tuan Megat Mizan Nicholas Denney, Encik Wan Abdillah bin Wan Embong, Dato' Ismail bin Muktarom, Encik Hisham Al Bakri, Encik Azizul Rahim and much more attended this special event. This event was organised by the school's Arts and Culture Club, the Teacher's Council, the Class Management Committee, the AVA Committee and the school band, mainly St. John's Institution Naval Cadet Band for marching in with the guests and teachers.

Teacher's Day is intended to be the special day to appreciate a teacher's hard work and success in the education field. The date on which Teacher's Day is celebrated varies from country to country. Malaysia selected the date 16th May is because the Razak Report which was endorsed in 1956 falls on that date. The Razak Report was one of the four reports regarding the education in Malaysia at that time.

SJI celebrated Teacher's Day on the 27th of May 2016 (Friday) because on the 16th May the Mid-Term Examinations was going on. Furthermore, we believe that the last day of school before the holidays is a great choice because students and teacher's get to enjoy without having any stress.

Among the performances that were performed during the event are as follows;
Modern and Hip-Hop Dancing performed by Faritz Danial, Haziq Imran, Aniq Irfanshamil, Muqry Darwish and Encik Chan Chee Kong.
Acapella performance (Flashlight by Jessie J) performed by Amir Imran, Isaiah Henry, Altaf Daniel and Khailesh Balakrishnan.
Solo Singing (Hero by Mariah Carey) performed by Zareef.
Duet Singing (Love Yourself by Justin Bieber) performed by Zareef and Izzaz Danish.

Fashion Show joined by Puan Jessica Wong Siew Fong, Puan Zaleha, Puan Norhaniza, Puan Wan Norasmah, Puan Norfaizah, Puan Azny Rohaidah, Puan Chu Yong Fen, Encik Khairi, Encik Syamim, Encik Mohd. Latun, Encik Kamal Bidun and Encik Mohd. Salfa.

Also on the 27th of May, it was Puan Jessica Wong Siew Fong's last day teaching in St. John's Institution as she has no choice but to spread her wings and move to Desa Mahkota College. It was also Mr. Chan Chee Kong's last day teaching in SJI as he will be retiring or move to SMK Maxwell.

We would like to thank all of the people involved in making this yearly event a success. We also would like to thank Encik Chan Chee Kong and Puan Jessica Wong Siew Fong for all their hard work and sacrifices towards the school. Once a Johannian, Always a Johannian. Fide et Labore.

PAPARAN ISTIMEWA
SAMBUTAN HARI GURU ST. JOHN'S INSTITUTION TAHUN 2016

Antara persembahan yang dilakukan pada majlis itu adalah seperti berikut ;
Tarian Hip Hop dan Tarian Moden dipersembahkan oleh Faritz Danial, Haziq Imran, Aniq Irfanshamil , Muqry Darwish dan Encik Chan Chee Kong.
Nyanyian Acapella ( Flashlight oleh Jessie J) dinyanyikan oleh Amir Imran , Isaiah Henry, Altaf Daniel dan Khailesh Balakrishnan.
Nyanyian Solo (Hero oleh Mariah Carey ) yang dinyanyikan oleh Zareef .
Duet Nyanyian ( Love Yourself oleh Justin Bieber) dilakukan oleh Zareef dan Izzaz Danish.
Fashion Show disertai oleh Puan Jessica Wong Siew Fong, Puan Zaleha , Puan Norhaniza , Puan Wan Norasmah , Puan Norfaizah , Puan Azny Rohaidah , Puan Chu Yong Fen, Encik Khairi , Encik Syamim , Encik Mohd. Latun , Encik Kamal Bidun dan Encik Mohd. Salfa .
